2.8- Process journal #3

The story line we decided to go with , was my original idea about wonderland , we decided to call it " a girl who found her way home. This wasn't my idea but it was Isamar's ideas. Also i added the idea that the main character runs away. I have incorporated the idea of the moral , that sometimes reality is better then living a lie , or living based on the "ideal" dream, also you should appreciate what you have. The reason why i decided to go with this is because in my stop motion i wanted to add like fun and the basic idea that everyone has about "wonderland" , or some place where they feel like its better than what they see home to be, it can be useful not only for a project but to show others that would think of running away.

2.7- Process Journal #2

Evaluate your work in class based on criteria F- Attitudes in Technology. What score would you give yourself ? Would you give the same score to your partner? Why or why not ? What can you do to improve your score ?

Based on Criteria F i would evaluate my attitudes in technology as a 5. The reason why is because in the concept of Personal Engagement i have had motivation to give everything in on time , and i have worked on some parts of the projects by myself, i have also approached this concept in a positive matter. I have also respect the opinions of my partner, and we worked together to incorporate and combine our ideas to our finial outline of the project. I would give the same grade to my partner because she worked just as hard as i have. What i can do to improve this project is handle organization better.

2.6 - Brainstorm

Story Line-
the teddy bear will be sitting on the floor with her paws in her face , she will then have a dream about wonderland , she will find a door and step foot in wonderland , then she falls down , when she fell down all the houses and trees and rabbits will all fall down also , and she will realize that "wonderland" does not exist and she rather live in reality and make the best out of it instead of wanting something that is unreachable and impossible.

2.5- Process Journal #1

For this project i am working with Isamar Rodriguez. Our initial ideas are the following , we want to make a story that will influence people that see it in real life. It is about a Teddy bear this teddy bear hates reality and everything she goes through in real life, so she sets foot in what we call "wonderland", and then realizes that she should have appreciated what she had before, because not everything in a fairy tale is fun and games somethings things aren't what they look to be. What we have done during this project is learn how to make a stop motion video. Also we learned that it takes time to make one , and that this project is going to be challenging considering the fact that we must make the teddy bear walk and do other things. Also we know what we must get completed before the next time we have Technology.

2.4 Design Specification

Design Specification:

- A Large Cardboard
- Markers
- Camera
- A teddy bear
- A back ground Scenery
- Windows Media player
- Computer

2.3- Design brief

I am going to make a stop motion. This stop motion is used to inform the audience about life and its obstacles. It is a PG video , so no violence would be demonstrated in this film. It will be made out of a group of photo graphs, and can be viewed by anyone. It is to be viewed for entertainment purposes.

2.2 Design Task

My stop motion video is going to be about a bear that is a cheerleader. She is going to be walking to what she thinks is "real life" when in reality its all a fairy tale , and a dream . As soon as she wakes up she finds that not everything in life is all fun and games there are a series of challenges that us as humans have to over come , to be strong in life, and thats the theme of the story. It basically informs everyone who sees it that all the "wonderland" believes of life aren't what they picture it to be and sometimes life will make unexpected turns that you as a human being must over come.

2.1 Stop Animation Investigation

1. What is stop motion?
Stop motion is a techique that is used to make different objects to move and to do different movements in a video form. It is also when you take many photos and put them into a video.

2. How is motion created using stop motion animation?
The motion created using stop motion animation is just sequencial movement right after each other. Like it is used to make a real video just making an object do things that they wouldnt regularly do.

3. What material is needed to create stop motion animation?
The material needed to create this stop animation is a camara and tri-pod, also a video editing program.

4. How is stop motion animation different from other forms of movies?
Stop motion is different then other forms of movies because instead of just video recording people , this takes the time to make a collage of different photographs. They have to be exact and have to have a certain timing so that it can look like a real video.

5. Describe the steps you need to follow in order to create a stop animation film.Watch both of the Stop Motion Animation films posted below and answer the following questions:

The steps that you will need to create a stop animation film is to plan, get all the materials , especialy the camara and then start working on it. You have to break down what you are going to do. For example the first week you caan just take photos. The second week you can start putting them together. The third week you can edit them into an animation video.

6. What objects are used in the films? The objects used in these films are different arts and crafrs materials , also a camamra to take the pictures of every movement that is accuring.

The objects that are used in the film was like teddy bears and a real life enviroment like an apartment, or a house , also a park.

7. How is music used to tell the story in both animations?
The lyrics in the music are used to tell a story because of the words that are in the song, like it talks about wanting to go to different places and explore.

8. What is the overall story in both of the films?
The story that is going on in both videos is that it they both want to leave the world that they were in and explore. For example for the teddy bear starts with just waking up and then next thing you know he is in a space ship out to the moon. Also in the second video the shirt and the pants wanted to go out in the world and not just be in a hamper. He left in a car and explored the world and life something more.

1.11 - Process Journal #4

What developments have you and your team made towards the execution of your project? What goals have been set for the next class ? What jobs will be completed before next week? Which team member is responsible for the completion of these tasks? Have you faced any difficulties working on this project? If you have, what steps did you take to overcome those difficulties? if you have not , what difficulties do you anticipate encountering in your completion of this project?

The developments that me and my team has made toward the execution of this project is that we designed the game board and we have written the questions for each category which is "question, Draw, and Name". Also we have picked out the colors for each part and we figured out what questions we want to ask. The jobs that will be completed before next week is everything. This weekend we are going to finish everything and put it together also. The team members that are responsible for the completion is all of us , me and Kayla De la Cruz are going to complete the board. John Rijo and Osiris Rosario are responsible for the note cards. I Have faced several difficulties , mostly it about time managment , and organization . The reason is because we barley see each other to work on it except for Tuesdays when we have technology. What we did was take time on the weekends and talk to each other through text and web. The diffeculties might be just getting together to gather all the information.

1.9- Process journal # 3

The challenges that we are facing is the challenge of meeting up with everyone , and having the time to. We are having the trouble of all coming together to design the board. So we each have different aspects in the game that we must focus in. We all almost finished with it , we drew out everything and designed it, we just need to sit down and actually make it , and prepare for our presentation. The IB learning qualities that the members of my group are showing is inquirers , we all are asking questions and researching about certain historical art figures. we all need trouble in the IB learning qualities is being balanced it is hard to balance all our work and put it together so that we can form our board. My greatest strength is coming up with ideas for our group, and helping everyone out. The areas i need to improve is being more organize when it comes to time wise. I should plan out everything i need to do.

1.8- Design Justification

The design that our group choose was the design similar to the game "cranium" where it is similar to our game where we have to speicify in the aspects of Color and trivia. In our game Artastic we choose that design because we have to stick to one topic which is art. We think hat this would relate to our game because it is focused on kids in 7th grade or even 6th graders preparing for there course of art in the 8th grade. It focuses on colors like red, yellow , and black and other primary also secondary colors like pink , and purple.

1.10-Process journal # 3

the developments that our group has developed is a game that is similar the cranium but it is relating to art. My role was to make sure that everything is fine and that everyone was doing what they were suppose to. The design that i have designed is a colorful board , with 4 different color pieces and 3 decks of cards. The first is question , the second one is draw , and the third one is fill in the blanks. My ideas and there ideas were similar so we didn't have a problem discussing differences.

1.7a, 1.7b,17c- Possible Designs

The three models that we have for our game Artastic are the following,
-Our first model is going to cards and a board, the board is going to have 4 main colors , which are green, red, pink and blue. This games include four players , the first player must choose a card from the center. The card includes questions and if the player answers the question right then the player advances. if not then the player either moves back or stays in the same spot that's if the person hasn't moved yet. The game is colorful , and is used to inform the players with different information they can use in there art class.

-Our second model we created is like a maze and on every wall is a color and every time you pick up a card depending on the color, is the way you will advance in the game, the first one to reach the finish line wins. There are four players and each player has a chance to win. This game is a art game and it will test your instincts. The colors on the walls will be blue, red, yellow, pink.
up to 4 players can play.

- Our third model was a board game, in which the four player are able to roll a dice with the letters D(for Draw) and Q (for Question). In the direction, there will be examples of famous painters and explanation of art. There will be four little pieces for for each player. There will be four little notebooks, where the players will be able to draw.Which ever player gets to the end wins.

1.6-Process Journal # 2

The score that i would give myself would around a 5-6 because i was working very efficiently and i incorporated many ideas on our game board , and ideas on questions on the game. I would give the same score to my group members because they also corporate with different ideas that we can add to our game. what i can do to increase my score is research more ideas and ask for help.

1.3-Process Journal #1

Who are you working with for this project? what have you accomplished so far? what steps have you and your team completed towards this project?

I am working with Osiris Rosario , and Kayla De la Cruz on this project. What we have accomplished so far is that we figured out what we want to teach and made our survey , and we got four kids from P.s.161M to answer questions for us. The steps aren't figured out yet , but we have figured out simple questions like is it going to be a card and board game ?, and that answer is yes it is going to be both and it will be a colorful board not just plain since we are focusing in Arts.

Design task- 1.2

Design task- 1.2

A short Statement of intent which indicates the end user, purpose/function, theme and possibly material

Our purpose is to inform the students of knowledgeable art facts , through games , and fun academic activities that they can follow and learn easily. The function is to teach the students informational facts about the different types of colors like secondary and primary colors also different facts on ancient art so that they can be prepared for the art there going to have in 9th grade, or are already taking. The theme of this project is a very colorful theme since its dealing with art, it will require a board and cards. We have not figured out what the materials are going to be.

BLOG #1.1- Game Evaluation

1. What game(s) did your group play today?

My group played Dominios , Yahtzee, and Cranium.

2. Briefly describe how your game works. What is the objective of the game?

For dominios the game works like this each person gets 7 dominio pieces , and the person with the double six goes first if not , then any person can go first. After the first person plays then the second person must draw a dominio piece the dominio piece contains 2 sides of numbers and the piece you must draw needs to be equivalent to the numbers on either the top or the bottom of the piece your are selecting. The objective of the game is the person who runs out of pieces first wins.
For Yahtzee the game has to be played like this each person rolls around 6 or 5 dices , and you have to count the number all together and add it for your finial score. The objective of the game is to get a yahtzee which is a number repeated more than once, and if you get a yahtzee then you get a golden chip.
The objective of Cranium is to have two teams the first time must read out the card to another team based on the color that appears when the dice is being rolled. One person in the apposite team must draw, write, act out , or make a model with like clay or something. the person who reaches the "finish" wins.

3. Were the rules clear? If not , what made them hard to understand

The rules for dominios was very clear , and easy to understand. Also the rules for Cranium , but the rules for Yahtzee was difficult because there was a lot of rules, and i never played the game before , and the picture demonstrations on the instructions was not very clear, and didn't make it easy for me to get a clear picture of what the objectives were of the game.

4. Was the board attractive, Colorful, etc.? Explain
The game dominios did not bring a board also the Yahtzee did not either , but the cranium board was very attractive because it was categorized by colors and had different images to attract the consumer into playing this game for a while without losing interest.

5. What is one Positive element of the game?

One positive Element out of these games is that they help you learn and have a basic understanding of some concepts for example in the cranium game , it helps you enhance very different concepts and different educational facts about the world around us , that many people don't really get into depth in.

6. What is one specific thing that can be improved ? EXPLAIN.

One specific thing that can be improved is the way the instructions are for Yahtzee , because in the beginning it may seem boring but if you really start paying attention or ready it, it gets a little more interesting but for the most part its not. For Cranium They can improve it by adding more ways to interact in the game.

7. What age group is this game for ? How could this game be altered to make it appropriate for a younger audience? How could this game be altered to make it appropriate for an older audience?

For cranium the age group that is being targeted is all ages as long as you can read and write also comprehend certain materials. This game can be altered by letting more people play the game , so instead of just around 6 people play they should make it 9 or 10 people.

This game can be appropriate for older types of audience by asking different types of questions like about the world around us in specific. Also For dominions it can be improved by adding a board , and adding more crafts into it. this would be appropriate for all ages.
